HARC Oil Spill Environmental Overview
At approximately 12:35 pm on Saturday March 22, 2014 there was a collision between a bulk carrier and a barge, dumping as many as 170,000 gallons of oil into the water. This map shows the location of the collision, the safety zones set up by the Coast Guard restricting traffic, and some potential environmental impacts in the area.
The various layers can be turned on and off using the toolbar on the right side of the screen. When the "Priority Protection Habitat Areas" layer is turned on, click on one of the areas for more detail.
